Intuitive Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese relaxation technique that facilitates healing. A Reiki practitioner will "tap in" to a state of communication with spirit in which they open up to channel universal life force energy and stream that healing energy to the client.
Reiki does not follow a specific belief system and it does not conflict with any religious ideology. The ability to communicate with spirit and channel life force energy is an ability we all have. Reiki as an energy work modality and school of thought was founded in the early 1900's, but the action of healing through a laying on of hands is a universal practice, crossing virtually all religions, cultures, and walks of life. Through Usui Reiki, a practitioner is taught how to channel Reiki by receiving a series of "attunements."
How We Begin
A session begins with 15-20 of seated discussion, followed by 30-45 minutes of Reiki in which the practitioner will hover their hands a few inches above the client's body, generally moving from the crown of the head down to different chakra centers and limbs. Reiki energy may prompt the practitioner to focus more on specific areas of the body, as needed. This process works to remove blockages, balance and replenish energy. As the client receives Reiki, they usually enter a state of relaxation in which their body, mind, and spirit unify and harmonize, allowing great healing to take place.
What to Expect
During a session people report greater sense of ease, reduction of pain, emotional release, and healing across many possible body systems.
Reiki can be performed with or without the request of something specific to be healed. During a session, the client will lie on their back on a massage table while ambient instrumental music plays quietly. Usually the duration of Reiki is a silent exchange, where the client can relax and the practitioner can focus fully on channeling energy. Once the Reiki healing is complete, the Practitioner will share any intuitive information received. Every Reiki session is unique, focusing on what most needs healing at the moment.
